Julie Garton-Good, DREI, C-CREC®

Julie Garton-Good's real estate career spans more than three decades as a broker, international speaker, book author and syndicated columnist. She's been called "America's Home Affordability Expert" and addresses thousands of people annually on the topics of real estate trends, consumer-centricity, and fee-for-service consulting.

Julie is the sole three-time recipient of the Real Estate Educators' (REEA) international "Real Estate Educator of the Year" award receiving the award in 1985, 1994, and 2002. A past national President of REEA, she was one of its first twenty recipients of the (DREI) Distinguished Real Estate Instructor designation in 1983.

She has authored ten real estate books including "All About Mortgages: Insider Tips to Finance and Refinance Your Home in Today’s Economy", 4th edition, and "Real Estate a La Carte" published in 2001 by Dearborn Financial Publishing. Since 1989, Julie has penned a syndicated weekly newspaper column, The Frugal HomeOwner®.

In 1997, The National Association of Realtors® (NAR®) nominated Julie as one of the fifty most- influential people in the real estate industry, sharing the list with only three other women. In 2000, NAR selected her again, this time as one of the "Top 25 Most Influential People in Real Estate" due to her vision of fee-for-services real estate consulting and unbundling the real estate transaction. She was the only woman to make the list both times.

Passionate about education, Julie is one of the first real estate educators in North America to do research regarding what real estate consumers' want and what they're willing to pay for in the real estate process. The founding of the International Association of Real Estate Consultants® and design of the Consumer-Certified Real Estate Consultant® (C-CREC®) designation in 1999 culminated five years of research on the subject.
